Prepare a shortlist. Include preferred suburbs that best suit your budget and lifestyle
Search the web. The internet is a great place to start as you can find out all about local schools, transport, shopping facilities, gyms etc. Once you have selected an area and looked at what’s on the market, it’s time to go to view the homes of interest at open for inspections.
Attend open homes. Try to inspect every property in your price range and also those a little above and below to give yourself a good cross section of the market.

Get your paperwork in order. When you find the property of your dreams, it is important to have your solicitor or conveyancer look through the contract of sale. Talk to your solicitor or agent about arranging a Pest and Building report and a strata report if applicable. Have your finance in place so you can put down a deposit and settle on the property in the required time frame.

Allow the professionals to support you. The agent handling the sale and/or your solicitor will be able to guide you through the sales, exchange and settlement process.
